Moments of Bittersweet Love.....

By Homer Simpson!
Moments of Bittersweet Love....

Outlandish feeling launches w/o precision
speeds with purpose, ends with decision,
A hushed moment between turn-back & go-ahead
Giving way to love/lust/mushiness/ego or just hatred
And then you; are being asked to judge, think and decide
More often than not; the mere lunatic emotions that preside
Giving way to "The Options" not one, not two, but a whopping many
Just seconds to spare and then those years to linger with content/agony
Options at all…

You were standing alone & you were torn
Into impotent and strong, right and wrong,
Yes and No. And deep into your priceless plague
And you recall and remember the err-y dialogue.
You can make it up and quote the emotion and the intuition
Word for word and as if your souls are combining in fusion
Does it matter whether you can map in detail, think and you can refrain?
the geographies of regret. It doesn’t. Never will. Not at all. Its All in vain.
Moment so small…

It starts with a hope and ends with a turn
The priorities keep merging as in a fern
In the stomach, a budding cringe at the excuse
The "shituation", the instance & the violent muse
You make for yourself, the other and your lovesrtuck heart;
A momentary forever, and then you will remember the drat
on alternate days over coffee, novels, cigarettes, friends and mild regret
Making sure, bittersweet memories drip in your mind like water in a garret
Just..Just that smell.

Could have ignored the intuitions&vibes
Answered that message for both the life’s
Said no, Said yes, Said nothing , Ignored or Smiled
The anticipation, the fondness, love & the stress piled.
Coz if we don't, we are corpses driven to animation by empty desire.
And by the time the moment ends. Shit.Sorry. Its over and we are there
In way, too deep, way too fast, wondering why there's no rewind button for the soul,
no second chance for the petty player, no back-up plan, and then deep into the sinkhole.
Yeah. All at once.

PS: I preclude myself from not giving this a closed end :)

Damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

Geographies of regret ? More like history i think. Bloodshed and strategy. Very good poetry. You've portrayed the indecision marked by the vacuous mind weighing options, contrasting with the rational self making excuses. Insightful indeed.

Now, for the personal stuff ha ...whos the girl who's got YOUR knickers all in a twist :P

    @ crd...Thanks man!

@manorath....Yea but for me those lines are equally important for the essence of the post :)

    @ abha..THnaks a ton..LOL lyricist..ha! No one would hire a small bwayy for a lyricist..:P

@sahil...Yea it needs time to digest a poem and dont worry...poem can be interpreted in tonnes of ways ..SO choose your way :)

@weird...Histories of regret...?...Argghhh...will sound odd and wont mean suitable too...thanks a lot

and for the personal part...NO girl wished to be so unfortuante and I dont wish for a girl...atleast not now :P

ahh..how i wish i could understand poetry! sorry cherry.. i tried hard.. but.. but.. but..
nevertheless.. i still got the thought and it was really beautiful and romantic.. well done.. and u kno.. the way u used the words and the whole formation was really good..
but can we plzzzzz have anytng except poetry next time!!! I kno many of ur 'fans' will kill me for this!
  10. saif May 31, 2008 at 4:01 PM
    very nice poem...
  11. Comfortably Numb May 31, 2008 at 5:43 PM
    @sandeep angad and saif...Thanks guys!

@pranay...Yea will definitely try to write something else..

Nevertheless..I think that if you say that you cannot understand poetry..then its probably the case wherein you try to much to wonder what the person was thinking about when he wrote the poem..Just remember that its you who is reading the poem and the poem will mean what you want it to,....Interpret how you want it to and thats the best way you can adopt a poem :)

    Thanks :)
  12. Ash June 1, 2008 at 5:25 AM
That was a very good post.. I never knew that you could express your thoughts into words so well Cooks! Keep it going and really I agree with Abha you should try being a Lyricist =D

Well, I interpreted it my way and I analyzed it in a point of view of a person totally aloof but when I tried to look at me from my point of view all I could conclude was that I am a very confused person lol!

Great Work Babe...! It is definitely worth the wait!

    pretty romantic huh!!!

    keep going!
  39. mmmm... June 25, 2008 at 5:16 AM
I didn't find this romantic - I found it quite sad - but maybe romantic doesn't always equate with (or mean) elation.

It reminded me of some of the relationships I've been in that started great (cloud 9, late-night calls, that kinda thing)...and ended like a ton of shit.

If a poem is able to make you do/feel something (anger, laughter, sadness, confusion), or if it conjures up a memory for the reader, then part of its work is done.

Homer: when did you write this...and how did you feel before & after you wrote it?

    take care...
  40. Lotuzz June 25, 2008 at 10:13 AM
Truly.. You are a poet! This is a well-written piece!

    Could have ignored the intuitions&vibes
Answered that message for both the life’s
Said no, Said yes, Said nothing , Ignored or Smiled

I wonder how can you manage writing so profound about love, I gotta/needta know you more i think.

hmm! there is no rewind button! Its nice the way you have athered so many emotions (few totally opposite In few moments of bitter-sweet (again opposite) love. it happens with me sometimes, and I wonder how can one feel exactly two opposite things at the same time about same thing! options afterall !

    you're torn and strong
    you're right and wrong!
    in yes and in no!
and you're recalling it all, reliving it all :)

    the geography of regret, aha!!

the starting and ending, from hope to demise maybe? love and despise.
how the priorities change and love-lorn heart aches :)
the water in the garret and the smells!

You're awesome :) teach me how you write!
  49. .a. July 11, 2008 at 8:57 PM
as someone above me asked "how do you write it and how do you feel before/after it.." your inspiration is very strong i think..

and it is sad, undoubtly it is sad. (or maybe its I, the sadist person!! *sigh* i need to learn more!)
  50. .a. July 11, 2008 at 8:59 PM
ps. i have just realized i read it before and commented too... but as i said I was off poems then. Now it did tug the vibes :)
  51. The Lover July 11, 2008 at 9:05 PM
